Debunking Lutyens: Truth behind Modi and Pulwama
India is in the early days of its most vicious election campaign. While we may see the opposition and its darbaris, just like when the Pulwama attack took place, speaking in one voice, it won’t be long, we’ll see them resorting to questioning and doubting today’s air strikes.

The horrifying pictures coming from the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama will remain etched in the nation’s collective memory for a long time to come. Words alone cannot express the shock and grief of this devastating attack. The attack united the entire nation – with its citizens as well as its political class speaking in one voice, a phenomenon which considering an election season, seemed as impossible as the Sun rising in the west. The feeling of nationalism was echoed by each and every citizen of this country.
The feeling however was short lived. Lutyens darbaris, a synonym to our paid or sold media / liberals, were soon seen peddling lies to discredit the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Nationalism, shock and grief were put to the backstage.
CLAIM #1: Narendra Modi kept shooting for a film.
The Lutyens echoed the Congress Party’s accusation, that of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi shooting for a film at the Corbett National Park, “three hours after the Pulwama terror attack took place”. They said, “When the entire country was mourning the deaths of the jawans, Prime Minister Modi was shooting for a film at the Corbett National Park and indulging in a boat ride to look at crocodiles”. Media reports quoted the Congress as saying, “This film shooting went on till 6:30 pm that day. He had tea and snacks at 6:45 pm. It is horrific that till four hours after such an attack, Modi was busy with his own branding, photoshoot and snacks”. Pictures were flashed in a press conference claiming, the “lust for power” was more important to Narendra Modi than the lives of our soldiers. Lutyens darbaris were quick in their service of their prince. A storyline had been built and the characters had to dance to the tune of their owners.
FACT #1: The film shoot happened at 1:30pm while the terror attack took place at 3:30pm
All claims made by the darbaris are false. Modi was not shooting at Corbett at 6:30pm. He did a short shoot for tourism promotion and climate change awareness with Discovery. That was much before the news of the attack started trickling in. Initial information of the attack started appearing around 3:30pm. The pictures that were flashed were taken at around 1:30pm. It is thus established that PM Modi’s commitment to Discovery was before the attack took place. In the backdrop of such accusations, it is important that we remember the actions of the Congress government when they were in power. For the sake of the Congress, let us just focus on one example of 2013 Uttarakhand floods when relief-material needed to be sent on urgent basis. Let us remind ourselves that the dispatch of these materials was stopped for 3 days just so that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi could return from their Spain trip to flag-off the relief-material and have their photo session.
CLAIM #2: Narendra Modi was enjoying food after the terror attack
Another claim has been that Modi had tea and snacks at Rampur guest house at around 6:45pm.
FACT #2: Narendra Modi was actually engaged into deliberations with concered security officials
Fact is, as soon as the Prime Minister heard of the attack, he engaged into deliberations with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik and Home Minister Rajnath Singh. It is a shame that we even debate on whether Modi had tea and samosas. But if the main stream media wants to portray it as a taboo, then let’s put facts over such fiction. In reality, the Prime Minister didn’t even consume any food, not at Rampur, or not when he was back in Delhi. That we indulge in such trivial debates, tells us how broken we are, how the sold media – which we so rely on, is capable of creating narratives to discredit the Prime Minister of India, your Prime Minster, my Prime Minister; and for what? We call them, “the fourth pillar of democracy”. What should be the role of the media in our democracy? To serve their political masters by thrusting fictional tales in the minds of the people of this nation?
CLAIM #3: Narendra Modi held political rallies after the terror attack
Another claim has been that Modi had tea and snacks at Rampur guest house at around 6:45pm.
FACT #3:All rallies were cancelled
Lakhs of people had rallied in to listen to the Prime Minister. They had been waiting for around 5-6 hours for PM Modi to address them. However, as soon as the PM came to know about the attack, he cancelled the rally. History is witness to the fact that on-an-average; Modi’s rallies see him speaking for around 60-90 mins at the least. Considering the seriousness of the Pulwama attack and yet sympathizing with the people who had spent time and money to travel, just to listen to the Prime Minister, the PM addressed them via phone for some 5-7 minutes. He then landed in Delhi to further take stock of the situation and to take the necessary actions.
A FEW MEDIA REACTIONS AFTER PULWAMA ATTACK
When India was mourning the deaths of 40 CRPF jawans at Pulwama, Modi was shooting for a film at Corbett National Park and indulging in a boat ride to look at crocodiles.
Ashok Swain: Professor, UNESCO Chair (21 February 2019)
I am told that during his photo shoot in Corbett when PM was informed that there has been an attack on Pulwama and some casualties may be there, he replied “Tik Hai” The man continued with his modelling engagement, by the time he finished 40 jawans were finished.
Sid: Delhi High Court Lawyer, a known Congress supporter (21 February 2019)
Modi continued shooting (for a Discovery Channel film) on the day of the Pulwama Attack.

There are some people who have a natural dislike for truth. From the first to the last word, every word spoken on this subject is utterly false.
The Congress has a legacy of playing with truth. But ignoring all the facts, the Lutyens durbaris chose to play on their perpetual hatred towards Modi by being in line with the Congress’ false claims. Mothers lost their sons, daughters lost their fathers, the nation was grieving but darbaris were busy bending their knee in front of their crown prince. In light of this attack, is Modi’s photoshoot the prime concern? Or is Modi having tea and samosas the concern? Or maybe it’s him addressing the rally? The honest answer is, none of these. The real reason behind all this charade is to shift focus from Rahul Gandhi, who was seen dancing and enjoying himself in Valsad, Gujarat – even after the news of the attack was confirmed. Lutyens durbaris have a defined job – to portray Rahul Gandhi as the heir of India. All the nautanki that the MSM indulged in was purely to change Rahul Gandhi’s image. They had to make Modi look evil to refurbish Rahul Gandhi’s image of partying after Mumbai 26/11 attacks. They had to change the narrative of Rahul Gandhi enjoying his dance. And so, as they have done many times in the past, they decided to peddle lies. But the nation should go with the truth instead of sold media narratives.
Make no mistake, these darbaris will manufacture stories to discredit the Prime Minister by casting aspersions on his work. These paid darbaris have built their careers on hating and undermining Narendra Modi and they will continue to do so, afterall, no one likes to sleep on an empty stomach.
Since 2014, the Indian media has become increasingly biased against Narendra Modi, leveling unsubstantiated charges and innuendos that even the opposition parties would be shy of. Unfortunately for many of them their hatred for Modi is greater than their love for India. Today’s journalists and anchors usually go beyond the scope of just ‘reporting’ the news by giving their personal verdict of the matter, giving viewers very little space to think on their own. With the penetration of the Internet and social media, a truckload of propaganda and lies disguised as news are seeping into more and more Indians every day. This abysmal standard of journalism cares little about facts and figures, their primary aim seems to destroy Narendra Modi. In the process, the media risks biasing, even indoctrinating thousands of ill-informed viewers. Not to mention the aggravating effect these headlines would have on India’s image abroad.
Today’s attacks on terror establishments in Pakistan have strengthened people’s faith in the Narendra Modi government. Modi has again proven that he is as good as his word. Yet I believe, India is in the early days of its most vicious election campaign. While we may see the opposition and its darbaris, just like when the Pulwama attack took place, speaking in one voice, it won’t be long, we’ll see them resorting to questioning and doubting today’s air strikes. Cracks have already started to appear with some journalist giving importance to “Pakistani villagers” over our defence experts.
FEW MEDIA REACTIONS AFTER INDIAN AIRFORCE STRIKES
Pakistani villagers say they heard four loud bangs and one person was wounded in Indian air strike, reports Reuters.

Too many questions about yesterday’s #AirSurgicalStrike. I can’t trust Indian or Pakistani media. Hope @BBCWorld @ReutersWorld @CNN tell us the truth.
