On the auspicious morning of July 26, 2023, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted the ceremonial hawan to mark the inauguration of the newly redeveloped India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) complex in Delhi. The redeveloped ITPO complex which will host India’s G20 Leaders meetings will be officially inaugurated on the evening of 26 July 2023. During the event, the Prime Minister also took the opportunity to honor and recognize the invaluable contributions of the diligent Shramjeevis who played a pivotal role in constructing this remarkable complex.
The newly redeveloped ITPO complex, also known as the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC), stands as a testament to India’s commitment to excellence in trade, commerce, and diplomacy. This iconic venue, situated in the heart of Delhi, has transformed into a world-class MICE destination, capable of hosting mega events, international summits, and cultural extravaganzas on a grand scale.
Strategically located, the IECC spans a sprawling 123 acres, making it India’s largest and most impressive MICE destination. The extensive overhaul of the old and outdated structures in the area has given rise to a modern marvel designed to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving global landscape. Developed at a cost of ₹2,700 crore, the IECC now ranks among the top 10 exhibition and convention complexes worldwide, rivaling renowned venues such as the Hannover Exhibition Centre in Germany and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai.

At Level 3 of the Convention Centre, a grand seating capacity of 7,000 individuals awaits, surpassing even the iconic Sydney Opera House in Australia which has a seating capacity of 5,500.
