In 1947, Nehru's meddlesome actions in Jammu and Kashmir marked a colossal blunder, prioritizing personal agendas over India's security. His reckless promises, callous disregard for Maharaja Hari Singh's pleas, and the disastrous ceasefire in 1948 allowed Pakistan to seize strategic regions, paving the way for future conflict and the rise →Read More →
The Battle Against Intellectual Terrorism
It is only in India where the soldier not only fights the enemy but also the politician, the separatist, the journalist, the leftist, the human right activist and an assortment of opinions. It is time we stand together, show our soldier that we are not ungrateful, that we acknowledge and respect his sacrifices.

Visual depictions, whether snapshots or videos seldom shed any light on what predated or followed the events, leaving blanks which the left-liberal intelligentsia use to conform to their preferred narratives. Recent videos emerging from the Kashmir valley are a mixed bag. Some show violent action by locals throwing stones, insulting security forces, even man-handling them; while some others are perceived to be showing the high-handedness of the Indian army.
The jeep incident in particular saw howls of protests erupt, the Geneva conventions being flaunted and human rights quoted. The left-liberal who think only they have a God given right to have any opinion on anything and everything went into an assault overdrive.
Let us first put things into perspective. The jeep incident was a one-off incident, NOT a Standard Operating Procedure of our forces. Our soldiers are not mercenaries sent out to kill locals, but are there representing our nation, risking their lives day in and day out, protecting our nation, keeping us safe! For armchair strategists, media houses, politicians with vested interests and even for all of us located far from the line of fire, it is easy to comment on our security forces. Statements preaching the army to show restraint and tolerance irrespective of the reality on the ground make excellent reading. But should we not comprehend and assess the circumstances under which such situations occur?
Let us review what happened. Polling officials, ITBP jawans and a small team of J&K police was surrounded by an estimated mob of 900 odd stone-pelters, some of them with Molotov cocktails. They had strategically positioned themselves on streets and rooftops. Hopelessly outnumbered, the ITBP jawans called for the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) to rescue them from the murderous mob. The fact regarding the jeep incident is that in spite of being surrounded, Major Gogoi who led the QRT not only saved his brothers from being lynched by a “peaceful” mob, but also saw to it that no civilian was harmed in the process. Had he not adopted this alternate method, there would have been immense bloodshed.
Unlike most other nations battling militancy, the Indian soldiers fight with their hands tied behind. As against nations employing heavy weapons, the Indian army uses minimum force when handling mob-like situations.
Without the use of heavy weapons, one error can cost a soldier his life. With mobs continuously seeking to challenge the writ of the state, presstitutes recording every activity, human right activists hurling sick baseless allegations, it becomes a battle of wits for the security forces.
Stone-pelters have been attacking armed forces in the Kashmir valley since 2008. Ove the years, it has become something of a cult. Kashmiri stone-pelters are part of “global terrorism” and a larger “pan-Islamic intifada fundamentalist movement”
Left-liberal journalism has caused maximum damage to India’s interests. Their writings, opinions and thoughts give impetus to those demanding “Azaadi”. It is this intellectual terrorism that puts the life of our soldiers at risk and which threatens the peace of our nation. The left-liberal media who has always tried to dictate the opinion of common India says that the lasting image of Kashmir valley conflict will be that of a man tied to a vehicle. It is time we fight these armchair journalists by understanding the circumstances and providing our security forces succour, rather than brickbats.
Soldiers demand nothing but respect and honour. They sleep in the cold, skip meals, carry their families in their wallets. They live and die for their nation. All over the world the armies and security forces are respected, revered and supported by the entire nation. It is only in India where the soldier not only fights the enemy but also the politician, the separatist, the journalist, the leftist, the human right activist and an assortment of opinions. He has no support, no backup and is just expected to die for us.
But the wheels need to be turned, the monopoly of the media houses needs to be broken, the pillars of the left-liberal narrative need to be stuck down. Today we need an assertive India, an India that has for long been kept in intellectual and cultural subjugation; an India for whom the lasting image is not that of a man tied to a jeep but that of a CRPF soldier – who in spite of having a weapon did not have the freedom to defend himself, to save his honour and to save the honour of his uniform. It is time we stand together, show our soldier that we are not ungrateful, that we acknowledge and respect his sacrifices. It is time we tell our soldier that his blood is our blood, that his family is our family. It is time to show these intellectual terrorists that we value our solder, that our soldier is not expendable and that we will stand by our soldier and fight by our soldier.
Jai Hind!
